ClimateWise

The world's climate is changing and the scientific community is overwhelmingly of the view that human behaviour is contributing to this. Climate change is already having significant social and economic impacts and will continue to do so.

The insurance sector enables businesses and individuals to manage risk including long term threats such as climate change. The diverse nature of our industry means that different organisations will be able to take action in different ways on these principles.

The ClimateWise Principles provide a platform for insurance companies to take forward the measures that need to be put in place to help business and society make the changes needed to tackle climate change.

The principles have been developed by a working group led by The Prince of Wales's Business and Environment Programme, Business in the Community, the Association of British Insurers, Standard Life and other insurance market particpants.
