Summary financial statements
The summary financial statements are aimed at providing shareholders with a summary of the position and performance of the Group. They do not contain sufficient information to allow as full an understanding of the results and state of affairs of the Group and of its policies and arrangements concerning Directors’ remuneration as would be provided by the full Annual Report and Accounts.
Shareholders have the right to obtain, free of charge, a copy of the full
Annual Report and Accounts, which contains an unqualified audit opinion and is available on this website or from Computershare Investor Services PLC, The Pavilions, Bridgwater Road, Bristol BS3 9DG.
If you would like to receive a copy in future years, please write to Computershare at the above address.
The summary financial statements were approved by authority of the Board on 22 March 2007 and signed on its behalf by Sir Brian Stewart and David Nish.
Forward-looking statements
The Chairman’s statement, Group Chief Executive’s statement and summary business review and certain other sections of this Annual Review may contain certain ‘forward-looking statements’ with respect to some of the Group’s plans and its current goals and expectations relating to future financial conditions, performance, results, strategy and objectives.
Statements containing the words ‘believes’, ‘intends’, ‘expects’, ‘plans’, ‘seeks’ and ‘anticipates’ and words of similar meaning are forward-looking. By their nature, all forward-looking statements involve risk and uncertainty because they relate to future events and circumstances, which are beyond the Group’s control.
As a result, the Group’s actual future financial condition, performance and results may differ materially from the plan, goals and expectations set forth in the Group’s forward-looking statements.
The Company assumes no obligation to update the forward-looking statements contained in the Chairman’s statement, Group Chief Executive’s statement and summary business review or any other forward-looking statements contained in this Annual Review.
