Investment Committee

The Committee members are Hugh Stevenson (Committee Chairman), Kent Atkinson, Crawford Gillies (appointed on 1 March 2007), and Colin Buchan (appointed 29 January 2008) – all of whom are considered to be independent non-executive Directors. Alison Mitchell and Gerry Grimstone resigned from the Committee on 29 May 2007. The Committee meets regularly to review and report to the Board on matters relevant to the management of the Group's investments. During 2007, the Committee reviewed and revised its terms of reference to make sure it continued to work effectively with Group companies undertaking investment activities. The Chief Executive and other executives (as appropriate) of Standard Life Investments Limited attend Committee meetings to update members on the investment activities of that company's board, and on other relevant matters.
