Application of the 'Combined Code' for year ending 31 December 2007:
The Board of Directors has reviewed Standard Life's Corporate Governance procedures that enable it to comply with the relevant requirements of the revised Combined Code on Corporate Governance ('the Combined Code'), as issued by the Financial Reporting Council in June 2006.
The directors consider that throughout the period, Standard Life has complied with all relevant provisions of Section 1 of the Combined Code.
