Standard Life has reinforced its distribution capability through the appointment of David Scott, Head of Distribution Development.
Based in Edinburgh and reporting into Stephen Ingledew, Distribution Strategy Director, David will lead the strategic development of a more efficient operating model both internally and externally, including e-commerce solutions with external distributors.
David joins Standard Life from Bankhall Investment Associates, where he was Operations and IT Director, with responsibilities including member services, IT development and E-Business.
Paul Matthews, Managing Director, Distribution at Standard Life said: "David brings with him over 20 years experience working in financial services, with a strong track record of delivery of enhanced infrastructure, IT change and business projects. David has built up experience working for both providers and more recently with an adviser business so I am delighted he can join us at a time when we need to continue to develop our capability to meet the opportunities of a changing distribution landscape.
"This appointment is a new role within the business and David will be tasked with ensuring our e-commerce plans are developed in consultation with strategic partners and aligned with our long-term strategy."
David Scott commented: "Standard Life has an exceptionally strong brand and credibility in the IFA market and I am delighted to be joining at a time of real opportunity. The distribution landscape is changing rapidly and my experience working for Bankhall will be invaluable in ensuring our e-commerce proposition is developed with our strategic partners front of mind."
